BUWAN NG WIKA

Yearly we are celebrating he “Buwan ng Wika” during the month of August. The theme is “Wikang Filipino mula Luzon hanggang Baler”. The Filipino Club is the one in charge for this and they are conducting some contests like balagasan, tagisan ng talino, poster slogan, essay writing, and sayawit. Many students has participated the said contest. The winners deserved to be awarded and recognized and by the end of August they announced the winners. About the theme, our language is really our mark. It shows that we are Filipinos through this. Like for example, saying manang, manong, pinakbet and etc. they can determine those words and they know that the one using it is a Filipino. English is our global language but Tagalog is our language here in the Philippines. We should be proud to be Filipinos. We should also understand that not all Filipinos are rich and can go to school to study. At least, they know how to speak in agalog instead of English because of our state. The only ones using English Language in the Philippines are those who have graduated in college, those who are rich and have good jobs but if we’ll see our economic status the Filipinos who cannot speak are 50% and its because half of the population in the Philippines is poor. Why don’t we try Tagalog as our language? I think it can be competitive. But even though Tagalog is not our Universal Language we the Filipinos should be proud using it. Let’s use this for better communication and let us love our language. This could also be a key for a better future and it can help our country be on top. Let us remember what our National Hero said in a lyrics of a sing “ang hindi marunong magmahal sa sariling wika ay higit pa ang amoy sa malansang isda”. Let us love our own language and be proud of it.

MY TEACHER, MY HERO

“Education is the key to success” it is a beautiful saying. Students go to school to learn and study. Students also need HELP! We all know that books can help us to gain knowledge about everything that we want to know. But, it is not that effective for students to read their books. Yes, there are many ways for us to learn not only by reading books but by surfing the net and etc. But, even though there are books and internets still we cannot understand some topics. So we need a TEACHER in order for us to understand more about what is in the book. The solution to our problem is our DEAR TEACHERS. Students need help and teachers also need help. Students learn from their teachers and vice versa. A teacher is always there to help us, to teach us. They also share their knowledge about everything. In school, a teacher is our mother or father in school. They serve as our second parents because they are the one responsible for us if something bad will happen to us. Can you imagine our life without a teacher? Who will teach us? How can we understand a subject? If there are no teachers what will happen to us? Do you think we will understand a certain topic? Do you think you can graduate? There are many questions that will come out if there would be no teacher. I think being a teacher would be great because I would help them understand the topic, I will share to them my knowledge, I will be responsible for them in school, and I will touch their lives in some ways. I can also help them solve their problems and give them some advice. A teacher is my Hero because of many things. Like, a teacher has an important role in our community. They should be proud in their job. It is a difficult job but still they accepted their responsibilities and they are doing it even though their students are very “noisy”, “pasaway”, and etc. A teacher is really our Hero. They deserve to respected.

INSIGHTS!!!

We’re entering a new world again! Second Grading Period is over. It’s really fast right? It’s like it just happened yesterday. And it is the month of October that means that Intramurals is approaching.
What have I learned during the Second Grading Period? Of course I learned many things. I learned a lot and I think it will take me a year if I will enumerate it one by one.
Let’s say goodbye to the History of Internet. Now, there are new lessons to be taken. We are now entering the world of NOTEPAD! From the different tags and the html we are making codes and type it in the notepad. One thing that was nit changed during the First Grading Period was the making of our blogs and submitting drafts.
Learning’s should be treasured.

Speak well in English or Filipino w/ kindness

Today it is very important to be able to speak in English and Filipino fluently.
Today learning English and Filipino is very important, not to say really essential. Once children started learning English or Filipino just since the junior high, today everything is different. English or Filipino teaching classes start from day nursery, where children attending the “courses”, beyond coming all from different countries, can learn English or Filipino by playing. Through the use of very easy songs, they will mainly learn colors and animals. The precocious teaching of English or Filipino pursuits the final goal to make children grow up and get a multicultural education. As we were saying and as everybody can notice, today our country is made up of different cultures, there are a lot of children coming from different countries attending the English or Filipino primary school, many different cultures, many languages, many customs and traditions. The learning of a foreign language, especially English, through a deep relationship between language and culture, contribute to enrich children’s cognitive background, making them expand their mental and cultural horizons. Our country always ranks in the last places among other European countries regarding citizens’ foreign languages knowledge. But being able to speak correctly two foreign languages is certainly very useful. First of all English, that since many years has been considered the most important language at international level. Now it should bespoken as well as Filipino language. To do so, it is very useful that children learna English or Filipino language since nursery scyool, when their mind is still free from a lot of notions and ready to store up new information. Since the age of two and half years,(but some researchers say also before this age), a child is able to learn very well even more than one language and as adult he will speak all of them in the same way, as they all were their mother tongue. This is the main advantage to make learn a language (and we are talking especially about English) since child. It is certain that children will surely make less effort than an adult to learn English or Filipino language. An useful advice is to speak English or Filipino also at home and outside home. This way a child can learn both languages at the same level.
We should also speak well in English or Filipino with kindness. We should learn to love our own language.

Having a Healthy Lifestyle

All living things depend on food and energy. We need it in everyday living. Health is wealth because if we are not healthy we can't live life to the fullest and do out daily task. Let us take care of our health by doing physical activities like exercising and etc.

Regular physical activity helps prevent abesity, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, colon cancer and premature mortality. A healthy diet is an important part of healthy lifestyle. Choosing and eating the right kind of food is important. Like vegetables and fruits, drinking 8 glasses of water everyday. It is not enough that we eat foods that taste or look delicious. Yhe food that we eat must also be nutritious and healthy. Choose foods that are low in saturated fats, and cholesterol. Choose and prepare foods with little salt because too mich salt can raise your risk for high blood pressure. Eating healthy diet is part of a healthy lifrstyle. Healthy living means taking action by eating a healthy diet on a daily basis. Exercise regularly. Choose an activity that you enjoy doing. For example, jogging, this help us reduce our weight. Avoid smoking ang drinking alcoholic beverages. Smoking and drinking alcohol is dangerous to our health. That's true but why are there still people who smoke and drink? Some cases are to forget their problems, it is relaximg they say. We should not risk our life just for that. There are many ways to forget problems and to relax. Of you quit smoking and avoid drinking alcoholic beberages, you can greatly reduce your risk of heart and lung diseases.
Nowadays, childrens or teenagers prefer junk foods because it is what the canteen or stores are selling. Let us change that habit. Instead of buying junk foods why don't you try a healthy snack.

"The Essence of Christmas"

Christmas, Christmas, Christmas.....what comes to your mind when you hear the this word? The word Christmas comes from the words "Cristes" "Masses" or "Christ's Mass". Christmas is both a holiday and a Holy Day. Christmas is very important to us Roman Catholic because Christmas celebration is the celebration of Jesus Christ. It is the time to thank God, for giving us his only son, just to save us. God did that just to protect us. Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem in Israel; His mother was the Virgin Mary. The three kings gave Jesus gifts. That is also one of the reason why we give gifts during Christmas.
People in different parts of the world also celebrate Christmas. We all celebrate Christmas in different ways. For my family, one way of celebrating Christmas is going to church for a midnight mass, in Tagalog we call it "simbang gabi". One of the tradition that we follow is by giving gifts during Christmas. We also tend to forget the wrong things that others brought to us. We must learn to forget everything and give a complete forgiveness, let's be kind, humble and spread the peace. We can hear many Christmas song and some of us is fond of going to the neighbors and have a caroling. I enjoy doing this especially if others appreciate my effort and will give some amount. Many families get together just to celebrate Christmas. Even though they are in abroad, they always see to it that they will go home just to spend the Christmas with you. It's just like having a family reunion. We celebrate the Christmas Eve by eating, sharing ideas, having mass, exchanging gifts and we also tend to open our hearts and accept God and Jesus Christ as our Savior. All of us are happy to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and accepting Him on our hearts.
